WDC works to protect the iconic Southern Resident orcas by restoring what they need to survive: their main source of food, Chinook salmon, and safe and healthy home waters.  Only 73 Southern Residents remain, and to make sure these whales have enough food to grow the population, we have been working to restore the rivers and waters that support Chinook salmon. 

Your donation will help us make more progress toward free-flowing rivers and increasing local protections for the Southern Resident orcas.  They are a signature species of the Pacific Northwest region, and each state and province in this area has an important role to play in protecting the Southern Residents.  We will work with state agencies and local partners to identify and advocate for stronger measures throughout their range.
